"Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always."

- ‭‭John‬ ‭12:4-8

In this passage Mary, sister of Lazarus, pours perfume on Jesus’ feet and wipes it with her hair. Judas, one of Jesus’ disciples who would betray him, says these words and Jesus replies. This is want I have gotten from this short passage and conversation from God.

The Lord backs us up. In the passage Judas was objecting what Mary was doing and Mary didn’t have to stand up for herself, Jesus spoke for her on how important it was. There will be situations where you are doing something because God has told you to and someone will try to stop you or object what you are doing. ALLOW GOD TO ANSWER FOR YOU. We are so quick to defend ourselves. Allow God to be your backup. Allow God to be your defense and continue to do what God has told you to do. Jesus replied to Judas with this “leave her alone”. Jesus will tell people to leave you alone when they question what you are doing. Later in Matthew 12.42-43; these verse talk about people choosing people over God’s acknowledgement. Stay focused on God. Allow God to fight for you.

Definitely a word I have needed from the Lord. The Lord is talking about me to bless me and also defend me in places that I’m not even in yet. Stay focus on the lane God has you in. God will reveal want needs to be revealed. God loves you and wants to better you and his kingdom not destroy you.
